About Axure

Axure RP is a desktop prototyping tool for Windows and Mac made by Axure Software Solutions. The current version is Axure RP 11. UX designers and business analysts use it for wireframes, diagrams, documentation and highly functional prototypes.

It is known for logic that other tools lack: conditional interactions, variables, repeaters for data-driven tables and lists, multi-state dynamic panels, working forms and adaptive views for different screen sizes. Every subscription includes unlimited publishing and hosting of prototypes on Axure Cloud, where reviewers can view and comment.

Axure no longer sells perpetual licences; RP 11 is sold only as a monthly or annual subscription. Existing perpetual licences keep working.

Best for: UX designers and analysts who need realistic, logic-heavy prototypes for testing or specifying complex enterprise software.

Strengths

Axure RP Pro is US$29 per user per month billed annually or $34 billed monthly. Axure RP Team is $49 annually or $57 monthly. Enterprise is quote-only, and a 30-day free trial is available. Checked October 2026.

When to pick something else

  • ProtoPie: pick it if you need sensor and multi-device interactions
  • Justinmind: pick it if you want similar logic-heavy prototyping at a different price
  • Figma: pick it if visual design and team libraries matter more than complex logic
  • Balsamiq: pick it if you only need quick low-fidelity wireframes
