Who we are
UX Pickle is the website at https://uxpickle.com. It is part of Neu Software. For anything about your data, email hi[at]uxpickle.com.
UX Pickle has no user accounts and no comments. The sections below cover everything the site collects.
Newsletter and downloads
When you subscribe, or give your email to download a checklist or template, we store:
- your email address;
- where you signed up (for example, the name of the checklist you downloaded);
- when you subscribed, confirmed and (if you do) unsubscribed, as a record of your consent;
- a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user agent, used only to stop abuse such as automated sign-ups. We do not store your IP address itself.
We send a confirmation email first, and you are only added to the newsletter once you click the link in it. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works in one click. We use your email only to send the UX Pickle newsletter and the files you asked for. We never sell it or share it for anyone else's marketing.
We keep subscriber records while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe we keep your address and the unsubscribe date so we don't email you again; email us and we will delete it completely.
Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form are emailed to us, with your address as the reply-to. They are kept in our inbox only as long as we need them to reply.
Free UX audit
When you run the free UX audit, we store the address of the page you audited and the report, so the report link keeps working. If you give an email address, we store it with the audit and use it to send you the report. You're only added to the newsletter if you tick the box for it, and then only after you confirm by email. Don't audit pages that are behind a login or contain personal data.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools to see which pages are read:
- Umami, which we host ourselves. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personal data.
- Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and is run by Google. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Advertising
UX Pickle is paid for by Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, which can be based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ad Settings, and read how Google uses cookies in advertising.
Some links and banners, such as the User Evaluation offer at the top of the site, are partner promotions.
Embedded content from other websites
Some articles include content from other websites, such as YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you and use cookies. Our YouTube embeds use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which doesn't set cookies until you play the video.
Who processes your data
- Hetzner hosts the site and its databases.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site for security and speed.
- Resend sends our emails (newsletter confirmations, the newsletter, downloads and contact form messages).
- Google runs Analytics and AdSense, as described above.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hi[at]uxpickle.com. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
