About
UX Pickle is an independent design publication. It started in 2021 to answer the small, specific questions designers run into every day, and it still does: where the hamburger menu should go, when to use checkboxes instead of radio buttons, how an error message should read.

What we publish
- Answers to specific UX questions. Our updated articles start with the short answer, then the reasoning, examples and exceptions. Browse them by topic, for example forms, navigation or tables.
- Comparisons. UX and UI tools with their pricing and features, and UX schools and programmes by location, format and cost.
- Free utilities. A colour converter, colour scheme generator and other small tools for designers.
- A free UX audit. The one-click audit scores any page against a published checklist, so you can see exactly what was checked.
How we write and update
- Sources. When an updated article makes a claim about how people behave, it links to where that comes from: published research, platform guidelines such as Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, or usability studies from groups like Nielsen Norman Group and Baymard Institute.
- Dates. Every article shows when it was first published and, if it has changed since, when it was last updated. In September 2026 we reviewed our most-read articles and our tool and programme listings against official sources, and dated each change.
- Tool and programme data. Prices, plans and programme details come from the vendors' and schools' own pages. They change often; if something is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
- Corrections. If we get something wrong, we correct the article and change its updated date. Email hi[at]uxpickle.com or use the contact form.
How UX Pickle is funded
UX Pickle is free to read. It is paid for by advertising (Google AdSense) and by partner promotions, such as the User Evaluation offer in the banner at the top of the site.
