About the programme
The MSc Design for Interaction (DfI) is a two-year, 120 ECTS master's at TU Delft's Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE), taught in English. It focuses on how people experience and relate to products, services and systems, and on the relationships designers create through their work.
The first semester is shared core: two faculty-wide courses (Delft Lectures on Design, and Design Processes and Practices), three programme courses (Human-Centered Design & Beyond, Consequences of Design, and Research to/for/through Design) and the Dare to Design studio. In the second semester students choose one theme: Design for Emerging Sustainable Futures, Design for Human Interaction or Design for Societal Innovation. Each theme has three courses and a studio.
The third semester is 30 EC of free electives, which can include an internship (up to 15 EC) or study abroad. The fourth semester is a 30 EC graduation project. Projects often involve companies, government, NGOs or communities. The Medisign specialisation is also available.

- Deadlines are 15 January for non-EU applicants (limited places, decisions by mid-March) and 1 April for EU/EFTA applicants. You need a bachelor's in industrial design or a closely related field, a CGPA of at least 75% of the scale maximum, a portfolio, a motivation letter and references. A selection committee reviews each application.
- Capstone

Who it suits
Suits industrial or product design graduates who can show human-centred design work in a portfolio and want a two-year, research-informed design master's in Europe. Not a fit if your bachelor's is outside design, because admission requires an industrial design or closely related degree.
