About Google Stitch

Stitch is a Google Labs experiment that generates UI designs and front-end code from text prompts or images such as sketches, screenshots and wireframes. It launched in May 2025 on Gemini 2.5 Pro and moved to Gemini 3 in December 2025, when it gained prototypes made by linking screens on the canvas.

A March 2026 update added an infinite canvas, a design agent that reasons across the whole project, voice input for live critique and edits, instant interactive prototypes, and DESIGN.md, a markdown file for carrying design rules between tools.

Designs can be pasted into Figma, exported as front-end code, or sent to developer tools such as AI Studio and Antigravity. An MCP server and SDK connect it to coding agents. It runs in the browser with a Google account.

Best for: Founders, product managers and designers who want to explore UI ideas from a prompt before moving to a full design tool.
