About Fullstory

Fullstory is a digital experience analytics platform. It records user sessions for replay and captures interaction data automatically, which teams use for session replay, heatmaps, funnels, product analytics and debugging.

Its capture technology, Fullcapture, records interactions without manual event tagging. StoryAI is its AI layer for turning behavioral data into insights, including StoryAI Agents.

Fullstory has three product lines: Analytics for customer journeys, Workforce for employee-facing apps, and Anywhere for sending behavioral data to warehouses and activation tools. Mobile analytics and Guides and Surveys are sold as add-ons. A permanent free plan, FullstoryFree, covers session replay and basic analytics for small teams.

Best for: Product and UX teams in mid-size to large companies that want session replay tied to detailed product analytics.

Strengths

  • Permanent free plan with 30,000 sessions a month and 12 months of retention.
  • Autocapture means less manual event tagging.
  • Session replay, heatmaps and funnels in one product.
  • Developer-friendly debugging tools.
  • Data can be sent to warehouses via Anywhere.

Limitations

  • All paid plans are quote-only.
  • The free plan is limited to 10 users and excludes Dashboards and StoryAI.
  • Mobile analytics and surveys are paid add-ons.
  • More analytics-heavy than tools built only for quick UX checks.

Pricing

FullstoryFree is $0 with 30,000 sessions per month, 12 months of retention and up to 10 users. Business, Advanced and Enterprise plans are quote-only (request pricing and demo). Checked October 2026.

When to pick something else

  • Hotjar: you want heatmaps, recordings and surveys with self-serve pricing (now via Contentsquare)
  • Lucky Orange: you want a cheaper self-serve tool with public prices
  • livesession: you want a lighter session replay tool
  • UXWizz: you want a self-hosted option

Checked against Fullstory’s own website in October 2026.

Fullstory is a session Recording tool. Pricing: quote only, and there is a free plan. In our comparison it supports playback, skip, speed, jump Back, console, location and live. It does not offer heatmaps, form Stats, polls and control.
