Whimsical is a web-based visual workspace that calls itself "the whiteboard for product builders". It combines boards, flowcharts, mind maps, wireframes and docs, and has desktop apps for macOS and Windows.

UX teams mainly use it for quick user flows, low-fidelity wireframes and mind maps. Its wireframe tool uses a fixed set of UI elements, which keeps output fast and consistent but simple.

Recent versions add AI generators: AI Flowcharts, AI Mind Maps and AI Wireframes, which turn a text prompt into editable flowcharts, mind maps, or wireframes and wireflows for web and mobile.

Best for: Product managers and designers who want fast, tidy flowcharts and low-fidelity wireframes without a full design tool.

Whimsical is a user Flows tool for Web, Mac and Windows. A paid plan costs about $120 a year, and there is a free plan. In our comparison it supports manual Flows, live Collaboration, comments, mind Maps and hand Drawing. UI Design is only partly supported. It does not offer dynamic Lines, auto Generate, auto Layout, data Import and auto Containers.
